Bonjour, Hello,

   Welcome to Artisme.

What is "Artisme"?  It is a word (French or English) that I haved coined to qualify the work of self-trained artists,  I have never attended art school but visited a ton of museums and galleries around the world.

I am both a field photographer and a studio artist (painting).  For the moment I am exposing my field and studio (photography and painting at the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in NY (April 2012).    The paintings are in a form which I have added to the art dictionary as well as to techniques for art,"Extrusionist". (premiered in London at the Fair for Contemporary Art). They are so textural that I was once added to a show of sculpture at the Z Gallery in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The AMERICANA series was done on a hitchhiking trip across the USA along the Great Lakes and Mississippi to New Orleans.  I tried to find imagery which has a long-term meaning expressing the culture of the various sections of the USA I toured.

I have shown from Japan to USA, Canada to Britain, Texas to Slovakia.  You may have even seen some of my work in your own artistic adventure. I have been in brick and mortar situations and won several nominations for my photography in Britain ,Texas, Australia, Texas, Japan, and  several other contemporary art galleries. Additionally studios I have had were in Montreal, Daytona Beach, London, Prague, Bratislava, Denver, and a summer in France.

You can see  my photographs in the December 2011 issue of ART NEWS in their Artist Directory. Also in Modern Painter Magazine, April and May 2012   I will be at a group show at the Amsterdam/Whitney gallery in NYC April 2012

The ABSTRACT series expresses my belief in the power of "abstract" in creating interesting and unusually complex images. They are intended to pass the test of time, by their nature timeless they catch a moment that lasts. The images are unmanipulated in any way, just as they were in front of the camera.

There are other categories, DOORS, COUPLES , SAVED IN BLUE, EYES,  MONTREALISME, ART RACKETS, The DENVER 20 (Extrusionist).

DOORS were  photographed as iI travelled and might be from anywhere, they capture the idea that there is an "in" and an "out" to oour personal/public personalitiles.

COUPLES are just that, photos of two-somes that show a relationship.

EYE AM A ROCK series was done with the help of the Redpath Museum of Minerology at McGill University inMontreal. The eye photographs  were "donated" by students of the university.  The series is done by photo projection onto the minerals.

SAVED IN BLUE series was done under blacklight on slide film.

MONTREALISME are photos of Montreal, Canada over time and space.

ART RACKET, sports racket forms as frames from all periods of my producution.

DENVER 20 were done during my stay in Denver in my gallery called "WHIM Studio" a part of the EDGE Gallery. These are exclusively Extrusionist work (see explanation above) of which there are 20  20" X  20.

Keep tuned in...

I hope that you enjoy your venture into my visual world.

I also keep a blog which records sunrises and their relationship to the local environment (at home a stream that flows by east of the house).

GALLERISTS TAKE NOTE; I have inventory and can produce a show with 20 works in very short time.  At the moment there is a show of Extrusionist paintings entitled   The DENVER 20 ( 20" X 20) all from Denver period.  Also PHOTOGRAPHY is possible, only in larger format (24 X 36).
